In most societies, people with mental disorders are still neglected. They are the second violin. Nevertheless, every orchestra has a first and the best violin, but no orchestra can play well without the second violin. Therefore, society also cannot be without people who are different.
The Centre for training, work and welfare by Dolfka Boštjančič, with its headquarters in Draga pri Igu near Ljubljana and units in a number of locations in Slovenia is the social welfare centre for training, education, healthcare and rehabilitation of children, adolescents and adults with moderate, severe and difficult mental disorders with additional disabilities. One of the forms of integration of their protégés into the social environment is also the restaurant, called Second Violin in Stari trg, in Ljubljana, where they participate in the regular processes of work, particularly in servicing costumers.
A dinner in the restaurant Second Violin, where a charity auction will be held represents a donation to the Centre of Dolfka Boštjančič for further integration of its protégés into society, as well as care and subtle harmony of culinary experiences and socially responsible behaviour. Our humanity is measured by attitude towards the weakest. Impact tourism thus enables us to co-create a better and more beautiful world in a pleasant way.
